This was an excellent article to read and it raised many important points. I resonated with a lot of it, as I’m a feminist that believes feminism promotes progress for everyone.
There’s a reason why I, as a woman, has followed The Good Man Project for a while: it’s for articles like these. Having a good emotional health isn’t, and shouldn’t, just be for women. It’s a human experience to feel so why should men be left out of that experience simply because of their gender?
The times I’ve connected with the men in my life on a deeper genuine level have been when they’ve dared to show, name and process their emotions. It’s always heartbreaking to see the other times when they’ve tried to “man up” because that’s what they’ve been conditioned to do.
